PO Vacancies after IBPS(CWE) Result

The CWE for Officer cadre was held on 18th September, 2011 at 3157 venues simultaneously pan India. 14,65,945 candidates registered for CWE out of 10,42,484 candidates appeared.As per the market information the percentage of successful candidates is 10%  which means one lakh candidates approx. have become eligible for the interviews in the 19 nationalized public sector banks subject to cut off marks and other eligibility criteria as laid by the individual banks. Important Banking terms

Repo Rate: A Repo rate is the rate at which  banks borrow rupees for short term from RBI against securities. Whenever the banks have any shortage of funds they can borrow it from RBI. A reduction in the repo rate will help banks to get money at a cheaper rate. When the repo rate increases, borrowing from RBI becomes more expensive. Currently, Repo Rate is 8.5%

Chairman of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council and former RBI Governor C Rangarajan said that as the primary injection of Rs 32,000 crore liquidity (through CRR cut to 5.5 per cent from 6 per cent) would have a multiplier effect, the interest rates would soften. CRR is the percentage of bank deposit that lenders have to keep with the RBI. The new rate would be effective from January 28.
